I'd like to use Vista sleep mode, but I can't wake up from it. I have a USB mouse and a USB keyboard. When I googled this problem, I read somewhere that there's a problem with USB mouse and sleep mode, so I unchecked the "Enable this device to wake from sleep mode" for my mouse.

I have now disabled both the 'sleep' and 'hybrid sleep' modes and using 'hibernation' mode which (to my surprise) functions without problems.
